The XC-1 is a crossover accessory
specifically designed for bi-amplified cinema applications. It can be configured
to provide all necessary signal processing for the most popular screen channel
loudspeaker systems. The crossover installs in the rear accessory panel of QSC
MXa amplifiers, as well as several of the legacy CX Series models. In addition
to crossover filtering at either 500 or 800 Hz, the XC-1 features time-alignment
delays to compensate for both small- and large-format high-frequency horns. A
high-frequency trim control is provided for balancing levels across the
frequency bands. Selectable high-frequency boost compensates for screen loss or
constant-directivity horns, and a subsonic filter protects woofers from damaging
over-excursion at frequencies below box tuning. Filter and delay settings are
user-programmable via a row of DIP switches.
